Christmas Cookie Run
December 8 @ 7:00 am - 9:00 am
Join us this Saturday for a fun, 5.25 mile run at the annual Christmas Cookie Run!
The Walnut Creek run, which is regularly held every Tuesday and Thursday at 6 a.m. was founded by Brenda Baker, a familiar face on Austin trails and at trail races for many years. She also instigated this annual Christmas Cookie run every December. We lost Brenda this year (Feb. 6, 2018) after a long fight with cancer. So those who knew who will be running in her memory.
Walnut Creek is less technical than most Austin trails. Some gentle hills, not serious climbs. We cross water twice. As of 11-29-18 you can do so without wet feet, but wet feet are always a possibility if it rains.
We cross a cement path multiple times which you can get on to run back to the parking lot if you want to do less distance. Cement path goes right back to the parking lot.
This is a no drop; all paces and abilities are welcome.
Bring you favorite Christmas cookie and/or drink to share if you want (although optional!), there are usually plenty. We will have cookies and beverages after the run and our hosts are bringing Santa hats to wear for photos.
If you want to join us but don’t have trail shoes, are in need of new ones or you don’t want to get your current shoes wet, we will have La Sportiva demo shoes available for you to wear and test out.
